Attack of the Killer Hammock

Taylor and I thought we would relax and take a little snooze in one of the hammocks today. We were pretty exhausted after traveling. We were pumped that there were hammocks all down the beach under the palm trees. He and I couldn't get our shoes off fast enough and into the sand. We carefully planned our attack to tackle this monster of hammock, as we all know they can be tricky. We agreed on which way to face, so Taylor eased himself into the center of the hammock and then instructed me to do the same. For a moment, life was blissful and we had arrived.... Turks and Caicos was AMAZING!!! Then.......there's that moment in time where you know something's not quite right, and you're either going to sink or swim.....I think we all know the feeling. Then you start thinking, "oh really??.....is this really happening??!!??" Before the mind really even has a chance to process whats going on around you, you're looking up at palm branches, blue sky, and your bare feet. Once you realize you are flat on your back as the sand trickles into your shirt, you start the reaction. Do you jump up as if nothing ever happened and look around to see who's laughing at you? Do you kick, scream, holler, and blame the spouse for shifting their weight? Or do you laugh your head off and embrace the idiot you have just become?
We chose to laugh hysterically, suck up our pride and realize we looked ridiculous, and began planning out our next attack on this bad boy. Lucky for us (and the poor sand below) we conquered the beast on our next attempt. Welcome to paradise!!
